ASTHMA - Common Medical Advice

General Information

Asthma is a chronic, non-contagious respiratory condition manifested as recurrent Breathing problems. It has twO main components-construction, the tightening of the muscles surrounding the airways, and inflammation, swelling, and irritation o me always Constriction and inflammation causes narrowing of the airways. The main symptoms are wheezing, coughing. chest tightness, or shortness of breath There are many triggers that can aggravate asthma symp1oms, and they often deliver from person to person Some of them are smoke, pets, cockroaches, Indoor movies, activity, colds, and infections, etc. The second wave, continuous swelling of the air tubes, more frequent attacks, and greater sensitivity to the irritants. A second wave is more serious and more dangerous than the first attack

Signs and Symptoms

Symptoms of asthma include:-

  • Mild to moderate attacks Tightness in the chest, coughing episodes and excessive mucous production, restlessness, sleep disorders, and wheezing.
  • Severe attacks: Breathlessness or dyspnea, difficulty in speech production, rigid neck muscles, and discolouration of extremities to blue-grey.

Advice to the Customers

  • Reduce or remove as many asthma triggers from the environment of the patient as possible.
  • Use air filters to make the home environment cleaner and More Comfortable.
  • Control dust mites.
  • In the event of exacerbations, report the incident immediately to a physician.
  • In case of an attack, the patient should be instructed to rest and take the prescribed medications immediately.

Prescription Advice

  • Instruct the patient on the medication and how to use it properly, i.e. name of the medication, dose frequency of dosage, etc.
  • In the case of exacerbation despite treatment, or in cases where asthma attack does not improve, instruct the patient to consult a physician immediately.
  • Inform the patient that rest and other preventive measures are always the best way to avoid an asthma attack.
