COLDS - Common Medical Advice

General Information

The common cold is caused by any of 200 possible viruses. Both the nostrils usually produce clear discharge. A cold usually lasts for about one to two weeks

The symptoms are:-

  • Fever
  • Runny nose
  • Ped eyes
  • Sneezing
  • Sore throat
  • Dry cough
  • Headache
  • General body aches

Advice to the Customers

  • More of handwashing and less of touching noses and rubbing eyes.
  • Adequate rest. This isn't the time for overdoing, be it physical, emotional, intellectual, or social Overdoing weakens Our immune system. Mid upper respiratory irritation and uncustomary fatigue are the harbingers of cold Good nutrition. Eating a well-balanced diet, preferably a diet rich in Vitamin C.
  • Adequate hydration: 2 litres of water daily.
  • Warm, moist air helps relieve some cold symptoms.
  • Use soft linen, hankies or tissues or blowing the nose to avoid irritating the area around the nose,
  • Protective cream around the nose may help to protect the skin around the nose.
  • Menthol/mentholated steam inhalation. If using menthol crystals, only use one crystal in hot, steaming water. his may help clear the nasal passages, Eustachian tubes and sinuses.

Prescription Advice

  • Instruct the patient on the medication and how to use it properly, Le name of the medication, frequency of dosage etc.
  • If the colds worsen or cause more irritation and discomfort despite treatment, instruct the patient to consult a physician immediately.
  • Inform the patient that good personal hygiene iS always the best way to avoid cold.
  • Discuss Advice to the customers thoroughly for more information on the prevention and management of cold.
